Happy 3rd Birthday, Averi!!

Wow! I really cannot believe that my daughter is already three years old! Where has the time gone? Where is my tiny baby that I used to hold in one arm? Makes me so sad to think about how quickly she is becoming a little girl. She stumbled her way into our bed this morning around 5 AM, cuddled up next to me, & went right back to sleep like she never missed a wink (of course, I did too!). Allen & I both woke up about 7 AM and she not long after...it was so nice to sing her "Happy Birthday" as soon as she opened her eyes! But I didn't make it through the whole song before I broke out in tears. I was just so overwhelmed with joy that I was chosen to be her mother. I can't thank God enough for entrusting me to raise her. I am truly blessed. I never knew love like this before...it is just simply AMAZING!!

We had a busy day planned, so we all snuggled for just bit longer before getting ready to go to Memphis for the day! We told her the night before, but she had no idea that we were going to the Build-a-Bear Workshop!! We had decided to keep that a secret. She LOVES to see that bear in the window waving it's hand to everyone, so we thought what better way to celebrate her birthday! We got to Wolfchase Galleria early and as we were coming down the escalator, she immediately spotted Santa (aka "HoHo")! She waved at him all the down. So of course we let her sit in his lap, tell him her wish list, & get a photo taken! It was a great way to start off her birthday celebration! As we were walking down the mall, Averi says "I want to see the bear! I want him to wave to me!" Little did she know that that was exactly where we were going! Once there, stopped by the waving bear and snapped some pics & off inside to pick out the perfect UN-stuffed animal! She studied them all, and carefully chose a pink unicorn. She was so excited to help make her fluffy, give her a bath, pick out her Tinkerbell dress, and named her "Tinky"...it was so awesome to see how very excited she was! We shopped a little, ate some lunch, then rode the bunny on the carousel before heading home! By the time we got onto hwy 78, she was asleep! Good thing too because the celebration was far from over! We had another surprise waiting...we had ordered a Tinkerbell birthday cake months ago and had to pick it up as soon as we made it back to Tupelo! It was a great way for her to wake up from her nap! It was the cutest Tink cake ever and even tasted as good as it looked! But before we ate cake, we went home, freshened up and went to dinner at her choice...Outback! They even sang HB to her! Once we got home we cut the cake & opened one last present...a Tinkerbell Pez dispenser and an Ariel singing birthday card! I wish I had her reaction on video when she opened that card. I think she was just as excited about the card as she was with Build A Bear & her cake! She opened & closed that card so many times tonight to hear the song! I think it topped off her day! But I think best of all were all the hugs & kisses she gave us to 'thank' us for her birthday!! She is just precious and we wouldn't trade her for anything!

Happy Birthday to my Averi!! Thank you for bringing so much love & joy into our lives...we are overjoyed that you are "part of our world"! Mommy & Daddy love you very much!!

Welcome to Averi's Carnival!!

On Halloween afternoon, we held Averi's 3rd birthday party...carnival style! She had all her playdate friends & family here to celebrate! The weather throughout the week was cool and rainy...which was making it pretty stressful for us!I don't know how many times God heard the same prayer from me EVERY. SINGLE. DAY! But He prevailed and gave us the most beautiful day of the week! We had originally planned for an all outdoor party, but since we unsure of the forecast we transformed our garage into the "carnival"! Of course the gigantor birthday cake bounce house was setup in the backyard! (FYI: Mooreville Rent-All is the best place ever!!)It was a little muddy, but what kid doesn't like the mud?! And thank God for tarps! We also had Cowboy P.T. come do balloon animals, a goldfish toss, bean bag toss, Lucky Ducks, and silly photo banners!! Everyone feasted on cupcakes, iced cookies, hot dogs, cheetos, and what's a carnival without popcorn & cotton candy!! Thanks to Averi's daddy for staying up super late & making all the cotton candy! In the end, everything turned out great & we gave our little girl an awesome 3rd birthday carnival! She had so much fun that when it came time to get dressed in costume to go Trick-or-Treating, she did not want to go! We tried our best to talk her into going, but she didn't want any part of it! So, we stayed home & she had the best time handing out the candy!! I just love her!
I think the photo says it all!

ICC's Parade of Costumes

Averi's school had a Parade of Costumes on the Thursday before Halloween. It's where her class goes all around campus (in costume) to various offices, classrooms, & labs to Trick-or-Treat! Luckily, I was off work that day, so I got to help out! It was just too bad that it was a rainy morning, but it didn't stop us from getting some candy! We started our journey at 9:15 AM and didn't make it back to the classroom until 11:15 AM...yes, 2 whole hours of walking with a bunch of dressed up, wet, 2-4 year olds! Can you say EXHAUSTING?!! Oh, but it was so much fun and I wouldn't have missed it for anything! I am truly blessed to be able to do these things with my daughter!

Averi & Tashiya

Fall Fest 2009

On Sunday, October 25th, we kicked off our Halloween week festivities with our church's annual Fall Festival! Averi had alot of fun as always. She rode on the barrel train, jumped in the bounce house, got 2 balloon animals, went trunk-or-treating, and saw a magic show! And of course she ate lots of cotton candy & popcorn!! She went as "Pocahontas" & I do believe that she's even prettier than the real one!

First preschool field trip...Pumpkin Patch!!

Wow!! It's Fall already and time to visit the Pumpkin Patch!! On Friday, October 9, 2009, Averi got to go on her very first school field trip. Allen & I went with her class of course! We couldn't miss out on our baby's first school trip! It had rained the whole week with expectations of rain on the day of our trip also, but her school was going regardless! So we went prepared with our rain jackets & rain boots in hand...luckily the rain held off until we returned home that afternoon! We went to the Pumpkin Patch Farms in Blue Mountain, MS...it was all 3 ours first time to visit. It was not bad...the children had a lot of fun. The school packed a brown bag lunch for everyone and had a picnic! They jumped in bounce houses, watched a haybale theater skit, went through a hay maze, fed the animals, had duck races with the water pumps, train ride, and of course...picked pumpkins! What fun!! UNTIL, Averi jumped and landed on her left arm wrong!! It happened at the end of the trip, so luckily she got to enjoy the majority of her trip. As soon as we got back to campus, we said Bye to her classmates & teachers and went to get an xray of her poor arm! It was swollen and she wouldn't move it without crying or screaming. Scared us to death!! Thankfully, it was not fractured...just seriously sprained! My dad splinted it & placed in a sling and she felt a little better! She wore it for about 5days and was a great sport about it! She didn't let it slow her down any...she's one tough little girl!! Even though she had a big boo-boo, it was just so great to see my little girl interact with her school friends & teachers!
this is NOT the pumpkin we brought home...she picked so many before finding the 'perfect' punkin!!
this is obviously before her big accident!!
we got to ride in one of ICC's big buses

Disney On Ice Worlds of Fantasy

We took Averi to her very first Disney On Ice show...well, actually it was a first for all three of us! Disney's Worlds of Fantasy was in Memphis at the FedEx Forum the weekend of September 25-27, so we went for the Sunday showing at 1 PM. We made sure we got there at least 45 minutes early because we had heard that they were going to display the Princess gowns & accessories AND a couple of the princesses would make short appearances as a pre-show! She was SO VERY EXCITED!! Not just about the princesses, but just to be surrounded by Disney everything! Of course we got suckered into buying her a $12 snowcone in a Tinkerbell souvenir mug + a $2 matching spoon/straw, a $10 bag of cotton candy with a flower hat, an $18 light-up spinny toy, AND a $7 box of popcorn...can you say BROKE?!! Holy Cow that stuff is expensive! I don't even know why they charge so much for admission because they know they're going to make a killing off of souvenirs and food!! Oh well, we were prepared to break the bank...what can you expect, it is a Disney production! And a very good one at that! The show included shorts of Cars, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Tinkerbell and all of the shows were wonderful! Averi thoroughly enjoyed all of it! Can't wait to take her DOI's Finding Nemo here in Tupelo in November!!
