Summertime fun!

We LOVE some long summer days of playing in the backyard ALL. DAY. LONG!! Averi has more energy than anyone I know...it's crazy!! She really is such a joy and I am truly blessed to have such a sweet little girl!

We are so blessed to have Allen in our life! He is such a wonderful & caring friend, husband, and Daddy! We both love him so much and we look forward to many, many more Father's Days with you!

Atlanta 2010

More like HOT-lanta!! It was scorching the few days we were there and it's only June!! We had been planning to make a long weekend trip to Atlanta some time this summer and it just so happened that my sister & her family were too! So we decided to make it a family affair during her son's birthday! We spent his actual birthday at Six Flags and the next day at the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, and Centennial Park! It was a great little getaway!So I couldn't resist putting this group picture! It was our only group picture & the crazy Six Flags worker obviously did a fantabulous job! The "beach" at Piney Grove

Since we don't know how the oil spill in the Gulf will affect our beaches, Nicole and I decided to take Hagan & Averi to the "beach" one Monday! We figured while they were still young enough to not understand the difference, we'd let them have some "beach" fun! We packed the car with toys, beach chairs & umbrellas, food & drinks! We had a picnic, played in the sand, and soaked up some sun!! They had a ball and we mamas got in some good girl time!

Flying High!!

Averi had been begging to fly a kite for days now! We were shopping in Wall's one day for some bargains and what did we find?! A Barbie Kite for a whopping $2!! So we made our purchase and hoped to find some wind! Thankfully, God heard our prayers by the time we made it home and Barbie went flying high!!

Make room, we have a new ride!!!

Well, kinda sorta...it's only for little ones ;P Allen finally decided that Averi could have a power-wheel car, but not without some guilt...and it wasn't from me!! A couple of weeks ago, he had been pushing Averi in the swing & she kept on insisting "higher". So, he pulled her back as far as he could and gave her one BIG push! Next thing we know, right when she peaks, she's flying & flipping in the air and lands face-down! Yes, face-down on the ground screaming and crying! I don't know who screamed louder, me or her!! We both ran to her & Allen scooped her up and just held her! SCARY! Luckily, there wasn't one bump, scrape, or broken bone! Whew! As soon as she calmed down, she said "I want to swing again, but daddy I don't want you to push me anymore!" Then followed, "Will you buy me a Barbie car?" HA! She's a fast learner! A few days later we went to our local Walmart to find the only one in stock!! Yippee!! We took it out of the box, but only to be disappointed. The darn thing was cracked!! It broke our hearts to see our daughter go from super excited to extremely upset within just a few minutes!! So, then we searched all Walmarts & Targets within a 100 mile radius to find nothing in stock or with a reasonable shipping cost! A few more days passed and we just broke down & quietly purchased it online directly from power-wheels...and the pictures say the rest!
