Wow!! It's Fall already and time to visit the Pumpkin Patch!! On Friday, October 9, 2009, Averi got to go on her very first school field trip. Allen & I went with her class of course! We couldn't miss out on our baby's first school trip! It had rained the whole week with expectations of rain on the day of our trip also, but her school was going regardless! So we went prepared with our rain jackets & rain boots in hand...luckily the rain held off until we returned home that afternoon! We went to the Pumpkin Patch Farms in Blue Mountain, MS...it was all 3 ours first time to visit. It was not bad...the children had a lot of fun. The school packed a brown bag lunch for everyone and had a picnic! They jumped in bounce houses, watched a haybale theater skit, went through a hay maze, fed the animals, had duck races with the water pumps, train ride, and of course...picked pumpkins! What fun!! UNTIL, Averi jumped and landed on her left arm wrong!! It happened at the end of the trip, so luckily she got to enjoy the majority of her trip. As soon as we got back to campus, we said Bye to her classmates & teachers and went to get an xray of her poor arm! It was swollen and she wouldn't move it without crying or screaming. Scared us to death!! Thankfully, it was not fractured...just seriously sprained! My dad splinted it & placed in a sling and she felt a little better! She wore it for about 5days and was a great sport about it! She didn't let it slow her down any...she's one tough little girl!! Even though she had a big boo-boo, it was just so great to see my little girl interact with her school friends & teachers!

Holley Farm
On Saturday, we took a family trip to Holley Farm in Tremont, MS (just outside of Fulton) to check out their pumpkin patch. My brother Ray & his family and my sister Row & her son Dalton went also. It's the first year of operation for Holley Farm and it was a hit! We really enjoyed ourselves...it was fun, as well as educational! That's right---a pumpkin patch that is educational!! They take you on a tractor- pulled wagon ride down Bull Mountain Creek & gave a short history lesson about the land and its surroundings. Well, not really that short, the ride is about 45 minutes to an hour long. And at the end of the ride, they drop you off to pick a pumpkin from the vine! We finally found a real pumpkin patch! They also had beautiful sunflower fields, a 5 acre corn maze, a barrel train, 30 foot slide, tree swings, petting area of farm animals, and great food!! After 3 fun-filled hours on the farm, we came home with 3 beautiful pumpkins & lots of new memories!!Averi & Rayli on the barrel train

I think Allen enjoyed the slide more than Averi!!
Me & Averi in one of the sunflower fields....
talking to the pony, haha! he was just her size!!
